The stability of electrical power systems directly depends on the continuous operation of transmission lines, which interconnect generation sources and load centers. In the event of a fault, an appropriate methodology to determine its location is essential to facilitate effective maintenance actions. Therefore, this paper proposes a method capable of locating faults using data from two measurement relays in simulated three-phase transmission lines, considering the distributed parameter line model alongside an iterative modeling approach. The simulations were performed in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The results demonstrated that the developed method remained accurate across tests involving different fault types and variations in line characteristics, yielding lower accuracy only when applied to an asymmetrical line model.
