This article presents the initial reflections on the PIBID subproject, approved by Capes in 2024, titled 'Educational Communication, Literacy, and Environmental Education: Pedagogy as an Integrative Element in the Reading of the World and Words,' which is being implemented in the city of Guajará-Mirim, Rondônia, in the Western Amazon. The subproject, a result of the coordinator's postdoctoral reflections, is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and integrates critical and environmental education, based on the theories of Paulo Freire, Demerval Saviani, Hans Jonas, and Joaquim Escola's concept of educational communication, inspired by Gabriel Marcel. The proposed methodology combines innovative pedagogical practices with field activities, aiming to train future teachers to act as socio-environmental change agents in their communities. The goal is to promote critical education that values traditional knowledge and is committed to the preservation of the Amazon and Sustainable Development.
