Abstract

Low-intensity electric current is used in current scientific research as an alternative treatment for the reduction of tumor mass. In this report, the electricity at low intensity was applied on the surface of the transmissible venereal tumor (TVT) located in the genital region of a mixed breed dog. Due to the size of tumor, the electrical stimulation was applied only in the lower half of the left lip of the vulva in three sessions of eight minutes. The continuous electric current at low intensity was an effective method to decrease the transmissible venereal tumor of a female dog. Keywords: Electric current, neoplasia, transmissible venereal tumor, TVT.
