In this article, we worked on the conclusion of item III.2 of the executive summary of the qualitative research "technology, professions and legal education", developed by the Center for Education and Research in Innovation (CEPI) of Fundação Getúlio Vargas de São Paulo’s Law School (FGV Direito SP), whose synthesis is: “substitution for machines is concentrated in positions of lower hierarchy”. Discourse analysis was used to address the theme, according to the theoretical framework of Eni Puccinelli Orlandi. In this purpose, were added relations with other discourses, based on the Manuel Castells’s thesis on information technology of the network society and the concept legal professions formulated by Maria da Glória Bonelli, as well as the perspectives of Richard and Daniel Susskind about the future professions, and Vittorio Frosini on cybernetics, law and society, as well as the other analyzes on the relationship between information technology and the legal field. It was possible to find another attribution of meaning to the speech expressed in the text, without, however, disconstituting what was said.
