Abstract

This paper presents a project and analysis of the construction parameters of a Tesla Coil (BT). The BT offers a presentation of several physical phenomens of electrostatics and electrodynamics, such as the corona effect and induced inductance, this makes it an applicable teaching tool for monitoring practical studies in educational institutions. The objective of this work is to describe and relate the construction stages of a BT project and to check the reliability of the conventional calculation method for determining BT parameters by comparing the results of it with that generated by a computer software, WinTesla, considering that the factors that are responsible for the difference in results between the two methods are the limitations and rounding of the parameters that the program presents.
