Brazil is facing a transformation about the issue of energy efficiency in the civil construction sector, especially in terms of sustainability. In the context of the Federal Energy Efficiency Law n. 10.295, of 2001 and in the Brazilian Labeling Program, published in 2009, PROCEL EDIFICA proposes to certify projects that provide a reduction in consumption and the use of alternative energies. Based on this program, the objective of this article is to propose improvement suggestions for the adequacy of an existing enterprise, to the maximum level of energy efficiency of the PROCEL EDIFICA label. Therefore, a case study was carried out in a private higher education institution in Mossoró/RN. The analysis of the place was carried out using the prescriptive method, through the Eletrobrás DOMUS software, which was fed with data collected in that place. The same, classified the wrapping, lighting and air conditioning systems of this building. In the first simulation the building obtained the letter C, in the second A and in the third B, noting that the classification ranges from A (most efficient) to E (least efficient).
