Abstract

State estimation is a technique that facilitates the operation of power electrical systems, since the indiscriminate use of measuring equipment in distribution are limited by its implementation costs, making real time monitoring of the system status in all bars unfeasible. The objective of this work is to analyze the current injection at multiple points in a distribution grid modeled in the ATPDraw software, for the purpose of simulating the impacts of distributed generation, and compare the results of the calculated values by the state estimator using a method based on the ladder iterative technique. The obtained results showed errors in the 10%, range for simulations involving lower and medium levels of grid current injection. However, high errors were verified in the electric current magnitude measured at branch 20, compared to the data from the state estimator, reaching values over 40%. Meanwhile, small voltage variations were observed among the cases analyzed, comparing the information resulting from the state estimator and the voltage magnitudes obtained by ATPDraw.
