Abstract

The cement industry in Brazil has experienced great growth, due to the implementation of public policies in recent years. In this sense, it is necessary to invest in optimizing your production processes, seeking new technologies and prioritizing maintenance practices in your equipment and especially in your furnaces, which correspond to one of the main equipment for the cement industry. This research aims to present the maintenance processes applied to the factory's furnace in a cement company in the city of Mossoró-RN. The main objective is to describe the maintenance procedures that are carried out on the company's equipment. This is a case study that aims to provide answers to the problems that are proposed. It was decided to use a qualitative approach as a methodological procedure. The data was found through bibliographic and documentary research made available by the company's technical team, as long as they are not identified. The Kiln used is a W-01 Rotary Kiln, with a production capacity of 1200 t/day of clinker, which operates 24 hours a day. The fact that the company in question adopts pillars based on maintenance in its strategic operational planning provides the opportunity to identify possible problems and failures, which can be previously blocked by protocols based on predictive maintenance. It was evident that the principles of maintenance: predictive, proactive, preventive, planned and audit are carried out in order to maintain adequate levels and consequently competitiveness of the equipment in question.
