Abstract

One of the modern ways to contain the expansion of consumption without compromising or economic development is to encourage the efficient use of energy. Regarding this scenario, the National Electric Energy Agency - ANEEL established a new tariff modality called the White Rate, which aims to encourage the reduction of energy consumption during times of greater demand. However, in order to make it viable to the consumer, it is necessary to relocate the charge for the period of least demand since at this time the tariff value will be lower. Therefore, this article aims to analyse a study of technical and economic impact of Demand Side Management (GLD) techniques considering the implementation of the white tariff and the replacement of the electric shower with a solar water heater system (SAS) in a low voltage residential unit. The applied GLD techniques were: load displacement and peak reduction. To analyze the feasibility of the white tariff modality, simulations were performed using the HOMER PRO software. The results showed that combination of GLD strategies and replacement of the electric shower by the SAS makes the use of the white tariff feasible since they reduce the energy cost of the consumer unit.
