About the Journal
Presentation
REJUR (ISSN 2526-9488) - Qualis A3 - is an online and open access journal, publishing articles in the Law, State, and Society concentration area.
With rolling submissions and biannual publication, the journal is linked to the Graduate Program in Law at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid (UFERSA) and to the Applied Social Sciences and related fields within its concentration area. Subdivided into two research tracks, REJUR seeks to engage with local, regional, national, and international research. Its mission is to enhance debates on Law, State, and Society through a plurality of approaches and research objects. REJUR welcomes unpublished and original works that represent theoretical, methodological, or empirical advances for legal research. Preference is given to articles reporting original research, without prejudice to the possibility of publishing, at the journal's discretion, non-original works of significant academic value.

Research Tracks
Track 1
Democracy, Constitution, and transformations in the social and economic order
Studies on Constitution and Democracy have enhanced several reflexive innovations regarding the legal-political phenomenon, allowing research programs significant alternatives for legal analysis. This track includes studies in the fields of politics, history, and constitution, as well as their varied actions regarding contemporary dilemmas, such as access to justice, democracy, public administration, environment, social and economic order.
Track 2
State, conflict, and fundamental rights
Investigations into the State, conflict, and fundamental rights seek to explore the multiple relationships resulting from the process of affirming and implementing fundamental rights. Including a plurality of perspectives, this research track aims to highlight, within democratic experiences, studies related to human rights, political sociology, power relations, political rights, criminal sanctions, and social movements.

Peer Review Process
Criteria and procedures for work review (double-blind review)
Once articles are received, they undergo the following review stages:

Adherence of the theme to the research tracks in a desk review.

Submission of the work to two ad-hoc reviewers (external members to the Journal team) for formal and merit evaluation under the double-blind review system.

In case of fundamental divergence between reviewers, the article may be sent to a third reviewer.

Each issue will maintain 75% exogeny among reviewers.
Once the evaluation by external examiners is completed, the results may be:
a) Article without scientific content restrictions: recommended by external reviewers and eligible for acceptance by the editorial team for publication.
b) Article with restrictions: recommended with reservations by external reviewers, which may be accepted by the editorial team upon revision by the author(s) or sent for a new round of evaluation by external reviewers.
c) Article not recommended: rejected by external reviewers and not accepted for publication.
Exceptionally, the editorial board of the Ufersa Law Journal may formulate invitations for publication, exclusively and discretionally, which will not exceed 25% of those published in the respective issue. Translations will be evaluated and selected directly by the Editorial Team.

Selection, among the approved articles, of those that will compose the next issue. If more works are approved than the maximum number of 20 (twenty) articles per issue, the following tie-breaking criteria will apply:

75% exogeny among authors.

evaluation recommendations.

plurality of the issue regarding branches of Law.

articles in a foreign language.

Unless the authors state otherwise, approved articles eventually not published may be published in subsequent issues, at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

The entire evaluation process will follow the ethics and good practice guidelines of the Ufersa Law Journal, based on Web of Science recommendations, COPE Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, and ethical duties applicable to authors, reviewers, editors, and the publishing institution.

Editorial supervision is conducted by the Editor-in-Chief, responsible for editorial decision-making.

Journal History
The UFERSA Law Journal (ISSN 2526-9488) is an initiative of the Graduate Program in Law at UFERSA. Focusing on the production and dissemination of quality knowledge in the interior of the northeastern semi-arid region, the journal seeks to reflect the multiplicity of studies in the area of Law, State, and Society. Created in 2017, REJUR has biannual publication.
